Every Mad Goat bowstring is hand-built by professional archers and built specifically for your exact bow make and model. We do not mass-produce strings or use assembly-line labor. Each set is crafted by experienced shooters who understand tuning, timing, and real-world performance.
Our strings are built for consistency, backed by fast shipping and our zero-twist guarantee.

How do I order a custom string for my bow?
Simply start in the Build Your Strings section of our website. Select your bow’s make and model, choose your series, and then choose your color and serving options. Once your build is complete, add it to your cart and check out.

Can I choose the colors for my custom string?
Yes.

  • APEX Series allows full multi-color custom layouts with custom serving colors.

  • FIELD Series includes two string colors and one serving color.

All options are available directly in the builder.

What does “built to spec” mean?
Built to spec means your string set is manufactured specifically for your exact bow model and configuration. This ensures proper fit, correct overall length, proper timing, and consistent performance once installed.

Production & Shipping

How long does it take to build and ship my strings?
Because each set is custom built, production time depends on the series selected and current workload.

  • FIELD Series typically ships within 5–10 business days.

  • APEX Series typically ships within 7–14 business days.

Estimated production times are shown during checkout.

Do you offer rush production or faster shipping?
Yes. When available, rush production options can be selected during checkout. Expedited shipping methods are also available.

Performance & Quality

What is the Zero Twist Guarantee?
Our Zero Twist Guarantee means your string set is built and served to minimize peep rotation and unwanted twisting caused by the build process. If your string experiences twisting due to a manufacturing issue, we will work with you to correct it.

Why is your pre-stretch process important?
All Mad Goat strings are stabilized using our proprietary pre-stretch process before they leave our shop. This process helps settle the fibers before installation, reducing initial movement and allowing your bow to stabilize faster after setup—without revealing our proprietary methods.

Will Mad Goat strings help my bow hold tune?
Yes. Consistent strand layout, tight serving work, and stabilized fibers all contribute to improved tune retention. Many shooters notice improved peep alignment, more stable timing, and fewer post-installation adjustments.

Compatibility & Fit

What bow models do you support?
We support most major compound bow manufacturers. If you do not see your specific bow listed in the builder, please contact us and we will be happy to help verify compatibility.

Do I need to know my draw length when ordering?
Yes. Your draw length and bow specifications help ensure your string set is built correctly. If you are unsure of your exact draw length, we recommend confirming with your local pro shop or bowsmith before ordering.

Warranty, Returns & Support

What is your return policy?
Because our products are custom built to your specifications, custom orders are not eligible for return once production has started. However, if there is a manufacturing error or defect on our part, we will make it right.

Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. We stand behind our craftsmanship. If your string has a defect related to materials or build quality, contact us with your order number and photos and we will assist you.

Warranty does not cover normal wear, improper installation, dry firing, or misuse.

Installation & Care

Do you provide installation instructions?
Yes. We provide general installation and care information on our website. We strongly recommend that all string installations be performed by a qualified pro shop or experienced technician.

How should I care for my bowstring?
To maximize string life and performance:

  • Wax your strings regularly with a quality bowstring wax

  • Keep your strings clean and dry

  • Inspect servings and strands frequently

  • Avoid over-drawing or improper draw stop settings

Proper care will help maintain consistency and extend the life of your string set.
